Welcome to our Humble and Free life! We are Sean and Jessica, married high school sweethearts, who chose to make a radical shift in our familiar and comfortable lives in search of adventure and something more serendipitous.

In 2017, we were living along the beautiful central coast of California. Our marriage was just barely a year old, and we found ourselves feeling anxious and unsettled. All around us, our closest friends were starting families. We agreed we wanted a family too, but we also wanted to experience a bit more of the world before taking that step.

It was a wake-up call for us and one we are grateful to have answered. We decided to drop everything! We packed our house into a storage unit, Sean left his job in engineering and Jessica set herself up to work as a digital nomad. Our journey began after Burning Man 2017. It could not have been a better way to start off a new life. It was our reboot.

Through our travels, we discovered we are at our most potent as a couple and our best selves when we are doing what makes us feel the most alive. That could be casually wandering through historic temples, climbing snowy mountains, road-tripping across Namibia, floating through mountainous limestone islands, or pedaling through a new city by bike. Sharing our experiences and things we’ve learned along the way has become a passion for us. From that passion, we started Humble and Free. Here we aim to entertain, inspire, and inform – that’s it!
