Resources

Below are a collection of various travel resources we regularly use and have come to rely on.

We would NEVER recommend anything we haven’t personally used and aren’t 110% satisfied with!

Web Hosting and Domain Registration

When the time comes that you want to start your own blog… and it likely will, the best resource we’ve found is Bluehost.

We have worked with a couple other providers since starting out and eventually found our way to Bluehost. They make it so easy to get a new site up and running and their 24/7 customer support is outstanding!

You can get started today with complete hosting solutions for as little as $3.95/month.

Travel Insurance

We never travel anywhere without travel insurance. Honestly, it is one of the first things you should consider buying when planning for a trip! Even if you don’t though World Nomads can set you up after you’ve left home with the ability to but and claim your policy online.

World Nomads is the best provider of travel insurance out there and is available to people in over 130 countries. It’s designed for adventurous travelers with coverage for overseas medical, emergency evacuation, trip delays, baggage losses and a wide array of adventure sports/activites.

WorldNomads.com is backed by a suite of strong, secure, specialised travel insurers who provide practical coverage, 24 hour emergency assistance and the highest levels of support and claims management.

Jessica has worked in the health insurance industry for over 10-years and in her opinion this is the best well-rounded coverage available for travellers.

Banking and ATM Cards

When traveling abroad it is likely you will make frequent stops at local ATMs to withdraw cash. It’s easier and far safer than bringing large sums of cash from home and then going to a currency exchange where you end up paying a fee to change your cash out. The problem with ATM’s though are those fees can add up quickly. When we were searching for the best bank/checking account to use while traveling this was a primary concern of ours.

Charles Schwab ended up having the solution we were looking for. They offer a High-Yield Investor Checking Account with numerous benefits for travelers.

  • No monthly service fees
  • No minimum required balance
  • Reimbursement of ATM fees (unlimited)
  • Mobile deposits
  • Additional brokerage account automatical included which you can choose to use or not

Booking Assistant

When it comes to searching for and booking accommodations Booking.com is the way to go!

We have used them for almost every place we’ve stayed while traveling. The phone app is super easy to use, the prices are the best, and (surprisingly) they do have really great customer service. We had a hotel cancel our room on us the night before arriving because they were over-booked. The support team at Booking.com saved us big time!

Search & Book Flights

Skyscanner is the first and only service we turn to when it comes to searching for and booking the best-priced flights. Their website and mobile app are both super user friendly. We have compared other similar search aggregators and Skyscanner consistently provides the highest quality results and the best prices.

Their services are 100% free and there are no hidden fees when you do decide to book. The price you see is the price you pay which we really love!
